Vintage Inspired Gift Bags
Upcycling old or thrifted books into gorgeous gift bags is a creative and sustainable way to add a personal touch to your presents. Follow these steps to make your own vintage-inspired gift bags using stamps and Glue Dots.
Step 1
For this project you will need:
- Glue Dots – Permanent
- Old Book Pages
- Hole Punch
- Stamps & Ink
- Black Ribbon
- Scissors
Step 2
Pre-fold the paper as shown in the image, creating the shape of your gift bag. Apply Glue Dots to the paper where you intend to seal the bag.
Step 3
Press the paper together to seal it, using the Glue Dots to hold the edges in place. This forms the basic structure of your gift bag.
Step 4
Fold the bottom of the bag upward and crease it as indicated in the image. This will create the bottom of the bag and help it stand upright.
Step 5
Apply Glue Dots to the folded portion and seal it securely to form the bottom of the bag.
Step 6
Stamp the front of the gift bag with your chosen design or message to add a personalised and vintage touch.
Step 7
Use the hole punch to create a hole at the top of the bag. This will serve as the opening for the ribbon closure.
Step 8
Thread a black ribbon through the hole and tie it in a bow or knot to secure and add an elegant finishing touch.
Step 9
If you need a larger gift bag, you can create one by joining two pages together and following the same process as outlined in the previous steps.
