This beautiful Japanese inspired paper lantern is made with origami paper, craft sticks and Glue Squares. The addition of battery powered tealights or mini LED’s will make this a perfect decoration for summer evenings spent outdoors or in.

Step 1

For this project you will need:

• Glue Dots – Glue Squares
• Origami Paper
• Craft Sticks
• Scissors

Step 2

Place a line of Glue Dots Glue Squares on the parallel edges of a piece of origami paper.

Step 3

Press a craft stick onto the Glue Squares to securely adhere it to the paper. Repeat this on the opposite side.

Step 4

Cut a craft stick to the appropriate size so it can lay flat at the top and bottom of the paper. Secure it in place using Glue Squares, ensuring that the paper is fully framed by the craft stick.

Step 5

Repeat this process on three more pieces of origami paper to create a total of four panels.

Step 6

Flip the panels over and strengthen the frame by using Glue Squares to attach a second craft stick to the back of each frame. Repeat this for all four panels.

Step 7

Use Glue Squares to join the panels together and assemble your lantern.

Step 8

Your beautiful paper lantern is ready to use!
