Mother’s Day Rustic Gift Basket
Make mum this simple, rustic gift basket and fill it with goodies for a lovely surprise this Mother’s Day. Woven with natural raffia intertwined with succulents and seasonal flowers in autumnal tones, Super Strength Glue Dots make this little project a breeze.
Step 1: Gather your materials
For this project you will need:
- Super Strength Glue Dots
- Natural Raffia
- A Circle of Cardboard
- Scissors
- A Selection of Autumn Foliage, Flowers and Succulents
Step 2: Prepare cardboard base
Cut a series of spokes at regular intervals around the edge of your cardboard circle (refer to image).
Step 3: Attach raffia
Attach a length of raffia to the inside of one of the spokes with a Glue Dot. Make sure it is placed close to the base of your basket frame.
Step 4: Weave raffia
Weave the raffia back and forth around the spokes of the cardboard and secure the end with another Glue Dot. Continue to weave strands of raffia around your base until you have a strong basket. Secure the ends of each strand of raffia with a Glue Dot.
Step 5: Secure the edges
Fold down the top 1cm of cardboard to secure the woven raffia. Secure each tab with a Glue Dot on the inside rim of the basket.
Step 6: Decorate & finish your basket
Decorate your basket by weaving flower and succulent stems through the raffia. Be as creative as you like, decorating just the edges or covering the entire basket to create a special gift for mum.
Finish your basket by filling it with lovely gifts for mum. Homemade treats, bath and beauty products to pamper herself, or for the crafty mum, a selection of Glue Dots!
