Blossom Gift Tin
Transform plain craft tins with pretty paper blossoms. Fill with treats, flower seeds, jewellery, or homemade lip balm etc to make pretty party favours or gifts. They also make a lovely gift to surprise mum with on Mother’s Day.
Step 1: Gather your materials
For this project you will need:
- Extra Coverage Glue Dots
- Craft Tins
- Crepe Paper
- Scissors
Step 2: Cut petals
Fold crepe paper so that you are cutting several petals at once and carefully cut out your chosen petal shape. By cutting freehand, you will achieve a more natural looking flower, just ensure that the petals are roughly the same size.
Step 3: Attach your Glue Dot
Attach an Extra Coverage Glue Dot to the lid if a tin, press down firmly and carefully remove the backing paper to ensure you have a perfect round dot to form your flower.
Step 4: Twist and press
Pinch the base of each petal and twist it gently between your fingers. Press this part carefully onto the edge of the glue dot and then repeat, placing the next petal as close as possible to the previous petal.
Step 5: Work around the Glue Dot
Continue the same process until you have added petals all the way around the edge of the Glue Dot. By using Extra Coverage Glue Dots you will have plenty of glue in the centre to finish your flower with more petals or stamens.
Step 6: Finish your flower
Decorate your basket by weaving flower and succulent stems through the raffia. Be as creative as you like, decorating just the edges or covering the entire basket to create a special gift for mum.
Take your cues from nature and experiment with some different petal shapes and colours to make mum a selection of storage tins that really pop.
